4-H Top 4 for the week of October 12, 2020

Good afternoon everyone!

We have lots coming up for fall and if you have the app you have a heads up on some of these programs and can easily register.

-We are excited to join forces with New Hanover County 4-H for their Pumpkin Palooza.  Due to COVID they are hosting a virtual competition.  For our younger participants they are looking for photos of their original painted pumpkin entries, and for older youth they are looking for carved pumpkin photo entries.  Adults there are also categories for you so feel free to enter as many times as you would like.  You could win a $25 Amazon gift card.  The deadline for entries is October 26.  For more information about the contest and to register go to https://newhanover.ces.ncsu.edu/4-h-pumpkin-palooza/

-Volunteers there is a statewide training on Kahoot!  For those of you not familiar with it Kahoot! is a game based platform that makes learning and trivia games easy to do in a virtual setting.  The deadline to register for this free training is October 28.  To register for this virtual opportunity is go.ncsu.edu/kahoottraining.

It is also that time of year to nominate our deserving 4-H Volunteers for the Robeson County 4-H Volunteer Hall of Fame.  Anyone (except 4-H staff) can nominate a deserving 4-H Volunteer.  It is an easy process and this year we have an online form for you to fill out to make it even easier.  Nominations will be given to a panel of individuals outside 4-H so when writing the nomination the panel will not know the person, so please make sure to describe them and the reasons for nomination. The winner will be announced as part of 4-H Appreciation Night and will receive the Dr. Eddie and Mrs Brenda Locklear Endowment award of $500 as well as have their photo placed in the Hall of Fame in the Auditorium.  To nominate a deserving Robeson County 4-H Volunteer By the deadline of October 30, please click this link https://forms.gle/tcytA2yPxyUcSrjRA

-Club Leaders if you have had any meetings this year, in person before March or Virtual, please send us the attendance sheets.  They can be dropped off at our office or emailed to Wendy Maynor at Wendy_Maynor@ncsu.edu.  The deadline for all attendance sheets is Friday, October 30.

For updates on programs and 4-H News please check out our 4-H app where you can also find the blog, registration for programs and more.  Just download 4-H Now! for Free from the App Store and when you open it look for Robeson a county 4-H.

Hope you have a great week!

Wendy, Christy, and Shea Ann
