Pumpkin Palooza

 


Folks, thanks to COVID we have had the opportunity to participate in more cross county events than ever before.  This is an opportunity organized by New Hanover County 4-H to join in their Pumpkin-Palooza Event.  If you have any questions please reach out to Scott Enroughty, 4-H Youth Development Extension agent at jsenroug@ncsu.edu.

New Hanover County 4-H Invites You.. to the 2nd Annual 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza!  This year's event is a Virtual Photo Contest!  Please share with your 4-H families.

With social distancing guidelines due to the pandemic, New Hanover County 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza will have a quite a new look and feel for the 2020 event. We may not be able to see all of the talent and creativity of the carved pumpkins in person, but we can see and share through the virtual 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza Photo Contest. 

The 2nd Annual 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza's Photo Contest will run from October 1st through October 26th. Participants can enter as many entries as they wish.  All photos entries must be of the participants original carved pumpkin (painted for the younger age group). The 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza Photo Contest Registration Form and additional information is located at newhanover.ces.ncsu.edu/4-h-pumpkin-palooza/

The 4-H Pumpkin-Palooza Photo contest categories are: 5-7-year-olds (painted pumpkin); 8-10-year-olds; 11-13-year-olds (middle school); 14-18-year-olds (high school); Adult I (ages 19-39); and Adult II (ages 40 & up).

All entries will be judged and the 1st through 3rd place winners per category and will be announced on October 30, 2020 through New Hanover County 4-H Facebook. The 1st place winners will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.

NOTE: The one-day event drew over 1,400 participants for New Hanover County 4-H’s inaugural event in 2019 with a total of 118 carved pumpkins entered for the contest.
