Presenting Great Leaders

Young Leaders 4-H Club held their monthly club meeting at the NC Cooperative Extension office and they had quite the turn out.  On the agenda for the meeting was presentation practice.  In this case the topic was chosen for them, sort of.  In honor of black history month the youth were to pick black leaders ho inspire them.
It was a packed house as youth spoke on folks that most of the audience had not heard of.  You would have expected a Martin Luther King or Rosa Parks, but these youth found other folks who made inspiring contributions and presented them.
This was also a great Segway to 4-H County Activity Day where youth can present on a variety of topics.  The idea is to get them up and speaking,  the more they do it the easier it is giving them a leg up in high school, college, and even life.  The deadline to register for CAD is Friday, March 6.  CAD will take place Saturday, March 14 at 1pm.
