4-H Farm Credit Showmanship Circuit Announcement

This is a message from circuit organizers.  If you show goats, lambs, heifers or steers this would apply to you.

Thank you so much for your feedback and patience during this process.  The 4-H and Livestock agents that represent all the counties in the circuit have just gotten off a Zoom and we are at the point where we have to make a decision for the circuit this year.  In making this decision we took into account your feedback, conversations with parents and youth, the current conditions we are facing now and the plan the state 4-H office has set forward concerning reopening physical face to face opportunities when the state gets to phase 3.  Utmost in our hearts and minds are the wellbeing of our youth, 4-H families, volunteers and Extension staff who make this circuit possible.

That being said we had to make the hard decision to have a virtual circuit this year.  Although we will miss seeing everyone in person, we are excited to offer this opportunity to continue learning and give our youth the opportunity to show and compete this year.

This is going to look a little different and we will have rules and guidelines to you as soon as possible.  Registration will open next week with a reduced cost.  We will work on an abbreviated schedule of five shows.  To be recognized youth will need to participate in at least 3 shows.  Below are the dates of prompts registered participants will receive for their videos and the due date of the video.  Participants will receive feedback from the judges along with their new prompt.  The prompts will be instructions on how to show their animal in the video and questions they need to answer on video at the end of showing.
Prompt Dates          Video Due Date
August 1                   August 15
August 22                 August 29
September 5            September 12
September 19          September 26
October 3                 October 10

We know you have lots of questions and we are actively working on putting together written guidelines, information, and also plan a Zoom training before we get started.  Please contact your County 4-H or Livestock Agent with any questions and please know we are still working on this and want to make sure it is a fair learning and growth opportunity for all of our youth.
Thank you for helping us make the best better.
