Virtual Horse Show Results

Thank you to all of those who participated in our first ever Virtual Horse Show! There were 219 entries across the different classes. Thank you to the American Paint Horse Association E-Shows and Better Dressage Scores for serving as the hosting platforms for the shows. Communications Contest The 2020 NC 4-H Horse Program Communications Contests were held in connection with the 2020 Virtual 4-H Congress. Contestants participated in virtual district activity days to qualify for the state event. Congratulations to the following individuals that earned top honors in this year's event. 4-H Spotlight: Horse Program Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the following winners of the 2020 NC 4-H Horse Program Scholarship!

Emily Worth Emily is the daughter of Chris Williams and Tom Worth. She is a current freshman at Johnston Community College and enrolled in the Nursing program. After graduating college, Emily hopes to enter the field of travel Nursing so that she can pursue her love of travel while also helping take care of patients. During her time in 4-H, which spanned over 11 years, Emily had numerous accomplishments. She was the Southeast District Vice President, represented the North Carolina 4-H Program as our State President, and was inducted into the Honor Club. Emily has also represented NC in various educational aspects, as she was a delegate and traveled to Quarter Horse Congress and Eastern Nationals in both 2017 for Presentations, 2018 for Public Speaking, and 2019 for Team Presentations. Throughout these years, she had tremendous successes while representing our state. Additionally, she is a two time, AIRE(Application, Interview, Resume, & Electronic) Winner.

Jenna Menetrier She is a current freshman at Davidson College, majoring in Economics with a minor in Mathematics. Upon completing college, Jenna hopes to enter Law School and then enter Corporate practice or Business law. Over the span of 8 years in 4-H, Jenna has been actively involved at both the local and state level. At the county level, she competed on the Gaston County Educational Team for 7 years. Additionally, she served as the President of the Blazing Saddles Club for 4 years and was on the Gaston County Council for 2 years. At the State level, Jenna traveled extensively for the educational teams. In 2017, she was selected for the National Horse Judging Team, where she went on to place 2nd Individual Overall and Champion Team at Quarter Horse Congress. At Eastern Nationals, Jenna was 3rd Individual Overall and Reserve Champion Team. Then, she placed 11th Individual Overall and 4th Team Overall at the American Paint Horse Youth World Show. Outside of 4-H, Jenna was also actively involved in Bandy's FFA Chapter. From 2018-2019, she served as the reporter. She also competed and placed various times at the State FFA convention. Jenna is also involved with Beta Club, the National Technical Honor Society, Pep Club, Student Government, is an active competition with USEF and AQHA, and graduated with Honors.

The Winning Spirit Congratulations to North Carolina for having the most State Spirit during the virtual Southern Regional 4-H Championships! Thank you to all those who participated and shared photos!

Endless Summer Horse Show Hosting 4-H Team Challenge Event The NCQHA District IV Endless Summer Show will be held August 21-23 in Williamston, NC and will feature several "Non AQHA" classes for 4-H'ers that do not show Quarter Horses. There will be a 4-H Team Show Challenge where 4-H clubs can enter as many 5 person teams as they wish. Riders will receive points based on their placing. The team earning the Highest Number of Points for the entire show will be crowned champion and receive a team trophy and a cash prize for the club. There will also be a 4-H Stall decorating contest and the winning club will receive a trophy and cash prize. See the links below for more information.
