Dr. Kim Ingold 4-H Photography Contest.

  


We are excited to announce the Dr. Kim Ingold 4-H Photography Contest is open and ready for submissions.

CONTEST RULES: 
This contest is open to North Carolina 4-H members ages 8-18 (age as of January 1) and adults 19 years and older. 

All participants must be enrolled in 4-HOnline. 

All photographs must have been taken by the 4-H’er/adult submitting the entry during the contest year (August 2022 – August 2023). 

Participants must enter their photographs within the age division that applies as of January 1. Junior: ages 8-13 Senior: ages 14-18 Adult: ages 19+ NEW PARTICIPATION CATEGORY FOR 2023 

Each Junior and Senior may enter only one photograph in each of the three categories “4-H in Action” “Nature’s Beauty” “Special Effects.” 

Each Junior and Senior may enter the same image in more than one category, if it applies to each category. 

Write a short sentence (10 words or less) to inform the judges about your picture’s specific details if needed. 

Adults may only enter one photograph in the following category: “4-H in Action”. 

Photographs may be in color OR black-and-white. 

Photographs MUST BE SUBMITTED at the highest image resolution possible in order to display high-quality images but no larger than 10 GB.

All entries must be submitted electronically to your 4-H Agent at sadejarn@ncsu.edu (Only 4-H Professionals can access the electronic Google Sheet to submit entries. )

All entries are due by August 14, 2023 at 5 p.m. EST. 

Please include the following information with your entries and give to your 4-H Agent/PA, for electronic submission: 
-Photographer’s Name 
-Photographer’s email address (that is checked regularly) 
-Photographer’s 4-H County of participation 
-4-H Age as of January 1, if adult, enter 00
-4-H Agent’s Name (First and Last Name) 
-4-H Agent’s email address 
-Age Division: Junior Division (Ages 8-13) Senior Division (Ages 14-18) Adult Division (Ages 19+) 
-Category: 4-H in Action (Only category for Adult Division) Nature’s Beauty Special Effects 
-Title of Photograph is REQUIRED. A short sentence (10 words or less) to inform the judges about your picture’s specific details is optional.

Remembering Margaret Crites

   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 4-H Volunteer Margaret Crites.  Margaret passed away after a brief illness on Friday night at Cape Fear Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bruce DeHart, a brother, and grandparents who raised her.  She is survived by her father Tom Crites, brother Chris, as well as Rusty, The Pirate Jean Lafitte, Flambeaux, and host of incredible friends, coworkers, and folks that she had helped over her many years working in nonprofits.   Margaret's passion was for community and she and co-worker Jessica Drake started volunteering with our 4-H program more than 18 years ago.  They started teaching arts and crafts to our cloverbuds during 4-H Cloverbud Day Camp.  They would plan the most wonderful crafts, such as making musical instruments with paper plates and shower rings that had long ribbon curls that allowed the youth to move, play, and have the best time.  Jessica went on ...

4-H Summer Fun is Open for Member Registration

Register Today for a Summer of Fun! Robeson County 4-H is happy to announce our summer programs and activities for 2025. We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting summer of learning. The summer program has activities for all youth between the ages of 5 and 18. Membership in 4-H is not required, however, 4-H members will receive the first opportunity to sign up for programs thru March 30. On April 1, the program will open to the public for general enrollment. Below is a description of the summer programs available through Robeson County 4-H. You will find descriptions about the programs, the dates, and the costs. There is a minimum number of children who must sign up for some programs, as well as a maximum number on most programs. Remembering Bobby Rogers

      One of the first people I met, even before I was officially the 4-H Extension Agent in the County was Bobby Rogers.  He was one of the 4-H Volunteers asked to sit in on my presentation when I interviewed for this job.  I remember him sitting towards the back of the room, near his wife Aggie, who was the 4-H Program Associate.  He was smiling, nodding, and very supportive with his body language which put me at ease in a new and different environment.  I remember after accepting the position he came to me, smiling and said I knew it was going to be you.  I can't wait to see what you do.   Over the years Bobby was more than just a 4-H Volunteer.  Sure he came in and did carpentry workshops with the kids, ran the electric program, and taught countless volunteer workshops.  Before my tenure in the program he was a volunteer with Young Leaders 4-H Club when his children were in 4-H.  He volunteered to take 4-H members to c...
