The Great Sunflower Compeitition

With families at home, it is becoming easier to run out of things to do, and easier to get creative with little things.  Well we have a competition for our youth that should make a family filled fun event for the fair.  The Great Sunflower competition is for youth who like to grow things, but might have a short attention span.  so all you have to do is plant the seeds, water, and feed periodically, and watch the magic happen.
To register for this contest fill out our on line form and we can mail you the seed.  Plant the seed and watch these gentle giants grow.  Don't worry if they die by the fair.  Bring us the sunflower head (alive or dried) come fair time and see who wins.  This is an easy an fun competition for the whole family and will introduce your child to agriculture, pollinators, and the food chain cycle (yes, you can eat the sunflower seeds in the dried flower head or plant them next year for an even bigger crop).
If you are in charge of a group of youth like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, FFA, or a 4-H club think about signing your group up for the group division.  the more heads and hands working together the more experimenting you can do to see what it takes to grow the biggest sunflower.
So what's holding you back?  Help us spread some sunshine today by signing your child up for this fun and bright contest.
