4-H Top 4 for the week of May 4, 2020

For those who consider themselves Star Wars fans (or fanatics) May the Fourth be with you.  Hope you are all well on this beautiful Monday.  Just a few thins to let you know about...

-Congratulations to all our participants and winners in our week of 4-H Challenges.  If you would like to know more about the week long event or who won check out our blog at www.robeson4-h.blogspot.com.

-Our animal science workshop for May 9 has been cancelled.  We are waiting on some information, hopefully this week, to determine when and how we will do animal distribution.  We will offer virtual trainings to participants as well.

-May 15 is the deadline for our District Activity Day participants to send their videos to Wendy_Maynor@ncsu.edu, to take part in DAD.  Also if you did a powerpoint you made send it along with your video.  If parents would like to take photos of the posters youth use you may do that and send them in as well.  For more information about your video and what you need to do please contact Wendy_Maynor@ncsu.edu.

-Our County Council Officers have met and are working on a couple of really new and neat things.  First they have asked us to recognize our seniors on our electronic sign at the office.  We will be mailing those seniors their cords and tassels along with a special note from the County Council Officers.
Also the officers are asking for your input.  They would like to have a virtual county retreat.  They would start with the teenagers and then offer for other ages if there is interest.  Needles to say this would need to happen virtually.  I am providing a link for parents, volunteers, and youth to provide your feedback.  Please do so by Noon, Friday, May 8.

That is all for today.  We appreciate your input and taking time for us today.  Stay safe and healthy out there.  Oh, and if you are interested our Robeson County Farmer's Market (located downtown) will be opening this Saturday with some COVID-19 guidelines in place.  So if you are looking for fresh local foods, you know where to go.  Check out their Facebook page, Robeson County Farmer's Market for more information.

Hope you have a wonderful and safe week,
Wendy, Jessie, and Shea Ann
