4-H International Program Goes Snail Mail?

The following is from Daniel Collins with the state 4-H office.  If you have a moment please click on the link to show your interest in an international pen pal program.

RE: 2020 States' 4-H International Pen Pal Summer Program

Dear NC 4-H Community,

I hope this email finds you well! As we are all continually adjusting programming for each sector of 4-H, we are also experiencing changes within the International Exchange programs. As you are aware, our inbound and outbound programs have been cancelled for Summer 2020.

States' 4-H, our National Organization for international exchanges, worked with international partners to establish a pen pal program for 4-H members and families to engage with an international child and/or family. Because the information was prematurely released by States' 4-H to several Facebook communities, most states that offer the International Exchange Programs (us included) did not get an opportunity to distribute information to interested families. Because of the high interest in participation, I have worked with States' 4-H to hopefully secure future spots for the PenPal program should they get more delegates from other countries included.

The link (NC 4-H International PenPal Interest Form) is for you to share with your 4-H families and members to gauge their interest in participating in this type of program. I have worked with our States' 4-H Inbound Coordinator to ask similar questions that were in the original registration process. Should there be open slots, I will be sharing the list of names from North Carolina with States' 4-H for consideration.

Several of you asked about connecting younger 4-H members with international delegates. Unfortunately, I do not have contacts available currently to grant those requests, but do have their families complete the form so States' 4-H sees the age interest!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Making the Best Better!!
Daniel
