It was bitter sweet waking up this morning. We are used to our camp schedules and our camp family. We are excited to go home and see our families but at the same time we have loved our time at camp. Our campers got up early to pack, clean cabins and lets not forget breakfast. We had bacon egg and cheese croissants and hash browns. It was so good.
Once our luggage was delivered to each counties pickup location we headed to the rec hall for one last time. This morning we had awards. Each counselor gave out personalized awards to each of their campers. There was the super star camper award, super LIT awards, and even the Larry, Moe, and Shep award. Campers were recognized for their kind hearts, personal growth, and overall bravery coming to camp.
It wasn't long before we loaded the bus with our luggage and climbed aboard. Our campers had the chance to kick back and nap while they headed home. First stop Richmond County to drop off campers. Next stop Lumberton to waiting parents.
Before we say good bye we want to say thank you. Thank you to the entire staff at Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H camp for their caring, teaching, and challenging our campers to make the best better. Thank you to the parents who entrusted us with your children and allowed them to go to camp with us. We appreciate you and your trust. Thank you to the community who stepped up to support our campers and supported this program. We appreciate each and everyone of you.
