We thought yesterday's camp couldn't be topped but we were wrong. Day two of Millstone 4-H Day Camp was off the charts (musical and otherwise). Our youth broke up into their four groups and headed out into the wilderness. Ok well maybe wilderness is a strong term for some of what we did today.
Our campers set off on a nature hike, so they did get a chance to experience the shade of the trees during the heat of the day. While one group was walking through the trees one group was swinging in them. Headed to the high ropes course at camp the campers got a chance to get hooked up and swing on probably the biggest rope swing they will ever experience.
If playing Tarzan is not your thing not to worry. Making sure our youth stayed cool in the 90 degree heat of the day was on the schedule. One group took a dip in the lake and got a chance to canoe and kyak. They were kicked back having a great time in the water. Another group had a chance to hit the air conditioning in the learning center and work up a sweat. The camp staff took time to teach the youth all their favorite dances to make sure they are ready for any musical occasion that might come their way.
Of course in there was lunch (pizza and there were definitely no complaints), and camp store. Let's not forget time in their favorite camp place-the ga ga pit. Needless to say on the way back our youth were tuckered out again and had the chance to get in a really good nap. Well rested, when we returned everyone decided they're ready to head back for one more day on the range. Stay tuned to hear about all our fun on Friday. It's guaranteed to be a time our campers won't forget.
