4-H Top 4 for the week of May 11, 2020

Happy Monday everyone!  Things change quickly in the virtual world we are living in and we wanted to give you some updates.  Our blog will be our immediate link for up to date information.  As we get new programs in we will place the information there and share it with you again weekly as part of our top 4.  Right now things are moving so fast we are unable to get flyers out immediately for programming so please click on the links to see what is available and of course you can contact myself and Wendy anytime.

On to this week's top 4-H which has been coming in all morning.

-NC 4-H Ambassador program is going online.  This is open to all youth 13 and up who have been a 4-H member for two consecutive years and are listed in 4-H Online.  The first Ambassador workshops start tomorrow so if you are interested please register online as soon as possible.  To learn more about the program and get the registration link please check out this post on our blog.

-District Activity Day Videos are due to Wendy Maynor by May 15.  Please contact Wendy if you have any questions.

-NC 4-H Citizenship Focus is going virtual this year.  That means there are a lot of positives, first no cost for the program that is open for 14-18 year olds.  Second is that there is no limit on the number of youth we can register.  So please encourage your teens to take part.  the event will take place over zoom June 15-17 from 1-4 pm each day.  Deadline to register with our 4-H office will be May 22 at 5 pm.  To register please contact Wendy Maynor.  For questions about the program please contact Shea Ann DeJarnette.  For more information about the program please check out our blog post.

-4-H Volunteers there is a new state wide training opportunity for you.  After talking about it for years on May 30 a free 4-H Virtual Volunteer Conference will be offered.  Several wonderful workshops are being offered and some fantastic speakers such as Jones Loflin will be part of the event.  For more information, including the schedule, please check out our blog postWe ask that you register yourself by the deadline if you are interested.  That deadline is May 27.  For questions please contact Shea Ann.

As part of this I want to make you aware of another staff change that will effect us.  Jessie Jones, who has been our support staff since Denese Prevatte retired in July of last year, has been promoted.  Jessie is now our new Family and Consumer Science Agent, replacing Janice Fields who retired at the beginning of the year.  In the meantime our new Administrative Assistant, Christy Prevatte, will be handling all things 4-H.  Please congratulate Jessie and welcome Christy to our 4-H family.

That's all for today.  Hope you all have a safe week.
Wendy, Christy, and Shea Ann
