Thanks to the Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair we are fortunate to have youth agricultural opportunities. This year our youth took part in two of the competitions that we offer as part of the fair from the Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair.
Youth were offered pumpkin seeds that were harvested by out Dirty Rascal Jr. Master Gardeners. the white pumpkin seed went out to several folks and we saw photos of vines everywhere, but conditions were just right for Kelsey Winston, a member of the Dirty rascals Jr. Master Gardeners club. She turned in a gorgeous white pumpkin during our 4-H Artastic Competition and it has placed first.
In our Sunflower competition we had two entries. Jahari Roberson, of the young leaders 4-H Club, submitted a beautiful potted live sunflower. Our Dirty Rascals submitted a huge dried sunflower head from their raised bed garden. Jahari won first place in the individual entry and the Dirty Rascals won first for the top team submission.
Job well done to all our competitors.
