4-H Summer Fun at a Glance

Time for Summer Fun!

We are so excited to be able to offer our 4-H Summer Fun Program.  Please read each opportunity carefully before registering.  We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting summer of learning. The summer program has activities for all youth between the ages of 5 and 19.   Active 4-H members (currently enrolled in 4-H Online) will have the first opportunity at registering for programs until June 4.  On June 5, the program will open to the public for general enrollment (please note anyone not a 4-H member will still have to be registered on 4-H online before they will be able to participate in programming).

This post describes the summer programs available through Robeson County 4-H.   You will find descriptions about the programs, age range of members who can participate (4-H Age please-age as of January 1 of 2021), the dates, and the costs. There is a minimum number of children who must sign up for some programs as well as a maximum number on most programs. Due to our current COVID guidelines we had to decrease the maximum number of youth who can take part in our, in person, face to face programs.  We are able to provide these programs at a reasonable cost thanks to funding support from Lumber River United Way.

Enrollment

To register, you will register online through the eventbrite link with each program (which can be found on our app), and pay the fee. Registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis and will only be accepted upon receipt of fees. Telephone, electronic, faxed, in person and mailed registrations for day camps will not be accepted.

Registration will continue until the camps are filled. Please contact the 4-H office at 671-3276 with any questions. Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made when you register your child by calling (910) 671-3276.

Policies

• All fees are nonrefundable unless a camp is filled to capacity (and the spot can be filled) or canceled. Necessary refunds will be made appropriately.

• Punctuality of all participants is expected, particularly on days where field trips are scheduled. The van will only wait 5 minutes past the scheduled departure time. Punctuality of parents/adults/guardians picking up youth following programs is mandatory. Youth must be picked up at the time the program ends. If the 4-H staff members are required to care for your child more than 15 minutes beyond the indicated pick-up time, a fee of $25 per 30 minutes will be charged.

• Although many of our experiences seem like great family activities, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and siblings not registered for the program cannot travel or tour with us due to liability issues.

Special COVID Guidelines

  • Youth will be required to wear masks in the van while travelling, and during all indoor activities.
  • Masks may be required by some field trip locations for indoor and outdoor activities.  We will communicate those expectations to parents prior to the trip.
  • At this time based on transportation guidelines we will only be able to accommodate 4 children per 15 passenger van with two adults.  Youth will be asked to ride with each child sitting in a separate row and will be required to wear a seat belt.
  • The vans and our office area will be sanitized on a daily basis after our trips, or each day in our auditorium.
  • Please note at anytime based on a change in Government guidelines, COVID numbers, or other safety factors we may have to change the schedule or meeting style of a program.  If that should happen we will communicate that change as soon as possible as well as any change in price.
  • To protect all participants attending a 4-H event/program, each parent dropping off their child or children will be asked the following questions prior to their child entering the facility. If the parent answers yes to any of the following questions, they will be asked to leave before dropping off their child.

     1. Have you had close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or has any health department or health care provider been in contact with you and advised you to quarantine?
