Please see the following from National 4-H. Our state office recommends if you are registering to choose Monday as your day option. This is when a state delegation would meet if there is one. If you would like to check out the agenda you can find it here.
Register Today for the 2021 Citizen Washington Focus Virtual Program - Deadline is June 1.
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF), is National 4‑H Council’s premier leadership and civic engagement
program for high school age students. While it typically takes place in Washington, D.C., this year it
will be held virtually. This year’s virtual CWF experience will take place once a week, for 5 weeks,
beginning Sunday, June 20, 2021. Participants will be able to choose if they prefer to participate on Sundays or Mondays during the registration process.
2021 Program Fees:
Youth: $250 per person
Adults: One Lead Coordinator from each delegation can attend free of charge; Additional adult participants are $250 per person.
Click here to register by June 1.
Important Details:
- Each week’s sessions offer opportunities to develop the skills and relationships that will empower delegates to be effective change agents. Focus areas include:
- Civil Discourse
- Media Literacy
- Representative and Local Government
- Action Planning for Change in Communities
· Delegates can also look forward to 4-H Alumni spotlights, panel conversations and live Q&A with leaders who are making a difference in the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors.
- Delegates who participate in this year’s virtual experience are still eligible to register for CWF 2022 (which will be in-person in Washington, DC) as long as they are still of 4-H age at the time of next year’s program.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. For specific questions around CWF, please reach out to Freeman Thompson (fthompson@fourhcouncil.edu).
Thanks!
