Art Hub 4-H Club

Thomas outside looking
at color, and drawing.
Our newest lineup to the clubs met for the first time last night.  The virtual club has 10 members and is already off to a colorful start.  Meeting virtually the youth had the opportunity to meet each other over padlet prior to the meeting.  During the meeting the learned about primary (red, yellow, and blue) colors and secondary colors (orange, green, purple).  The group played a color scavenger hunt to find items that were either primary or secondary colors.

At the end of the meeting the artists were commissioned to go outside and see color.  Then sketch out what they see in their sketchbooks, or on a piece of paper, and demonstrate the color they see.  The youth are then asked to put a short video of them explaining their art on the club's Flipgrid page or on their padlet.  They have a week to complete the work.

This club will meet weekly for six weeks.  For more information about this club please contact Wendy Maynor, 4-H Program Associate, at wrmaynor@ncsu.edu.
