It is with deep sadness and sympathy that we are informing you about the passing of a long time 4-H volunteer and Extension Employee from Anson County Pearl Blount. Ms Blount worked in the Anson County office as the Administrative Assistant for many years before her retirement, she was most well known to many of us as a 4-H Club Leader and Volunteer Extradonaire. The first time I met Ms Pearl she was kind and welcoming, and possessed the wisdom of a 4-H program that only a passionate, seasoned volunteer gains. It was obvious from everyone who knew her that she was more than well respected in the program, she was beloved. It is something that comes from making an incredible positive impact in your community and wanting youth to succeed. Her passion and kindness spread to the other 4-H Volunteers in that program and I know how proud she was of her daughter, Roshunda, becoming the 4-H Agent in that county before being promoted to County Extension Director. Ms Pearl will be missed by all that knew her and our prayers are with her family as they mourn the loss of their matriarch.
