4-H Top 4 for the week of February 15, 2021

It's been raining but we don't care because the future of our 4-H Youth is brighter than ever.  Please check out the opportunities and please do's below.

-4-H Online 2.0 is up and running.  Please log in here to go to the new site and register youth.  Adult Volunteers please re enroll yourselves.  You will need to complete the video training before we can approve your account.  Parents please go through the re-enrollment process for your child.  When we approve it you should get an email.  So far we are getting them done within 24 hours or less.  After a day or so if you don't see an approval let us know.  Also note the State 4-H office is offering a series of workshops taught lead by the 4-H state officers entitled PEAK.  You can register for that on 4-H Online 2.0.  If you lose track of this, don't worry 4-H Online 2.0 is more mobile friend then the last version and is on the app under the join section.  Please let Wendy know if you have any questions.  You can reach her at wrmaynor@ncsu.edu.

-Couple of questions about programs have come up and we want to share with you where we are right now.

  • The state 4-H office has announced District and State Activity Day will be virtual except for outdoor cooking.  Those competitions will be held live.  If possible we plan to model our County Activity Day after that.  We will know more later this week or next week.
  • The state 4-H Office has announced that Citizenship, Electric Congress, and Congress will be virtual this year.
  • The state 4-H office has also announced week long overnight camp will be face to face.  There are a mirad of COVID protocals that will be in place for this event.  To learn more about those protocols please click the link https://robeson4-h.blogspot.com/2021/01/4-h-overnight-camp-current-covid-19.html.  We are scheduled to camp at Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Camp July 25-30.  We do have slots open if you are interested.
  • Animal Science will go forward and we will determine face to face or virtual as we get closer to the shows in October.
  • At this time we are still reviewing COVID numbers, policies and procedures around face to face programming to determine if we can do Summer Fun Face to Face or virtually.  As soon as we know something we will have a schedule out to folks.
  • Also we are offering second and third grade embryology virtually starting in March.  If you are interested in following along with the hatching we will post information so you can be part of the fun.
-Please check our app for some really neat upcoming programs for youth and volunteers.  If you click the programs tab each program lets you know what age range it is intended for and you can sign up there.

-Volunteers the first four county volunteer training will take place March 16 via zoom.  There is a link on the program tab of the app to register.

As always thanks for being part of Robeson County 4-H.  We are looking forward to seeing you soon at one of the amazing event we are offering this year.

Wendy, Christy, Shea Ann
