Diversity Education Opportunity for 4-H Members

The Orange i2i virtual program is hosted by Orange County 4-H and consists of a series of critical conversations for teens. With so much going on in today’s world, teens need to be able to have difficult conversations and be able to learn about each other in a respectful way. This program will celebrate similarities and differences focusing on what makes us unique and what makes us human.

This program is limited to youth in grades 8-12 and is open to any 4-H member in North Carolina. Participants will meet weekly from 6:30-8:00 P.M. on the following dates. Students should commit to attending all five Zoom sessions. Zoom links will be shared with attendees prior to each session. Additional fun at-home tasks may also be assigned weekly such as cooking a favorite dish representing you and your culture.

March 11- Personal Experience: Celebrate Your Story and What Makes You Unique

March 18- Culture: Define Culture and Explore How To Connect with People from Other Cultures

March 25- Sterotypes: What They Are and How To Change Your Lens

April 1- Racial Wealth Gap: Looking at Sterotypes and Societal Impacts on How We Live and Think

April 8- Self Awarness: Putting it All Together
