4-H District Activity Day Information

For our youth who competed at 4-H County Activity Day below is the information concerning District Activity Day.  All presentation and public speaking rules are maintained.  Instead of doing a face to face presentation this year you will shoot a video (unedited) to email to Wendy Maynor by May 15.  This way if we need to revise we will still have time to reshoot before we send in the final product.  We will then register and upload the videos of your presentation to the district site.

Below are the rules concerning District Activity Day from the State 4-H office.
2020
● Rules will remain the same
● State 4-H Presentation Guidelines & Regulations & Categories
○ 2020 Presentation Fact Sheet
○ 4-H Presentation 101 Handout
● Videos of youth presenting their presentations
○ Videos must be single cut - do not do several recordings and splice them
together. SINGLE CUT ONLY - just as if youth are presenting live.
● Must see youth doing their presentations.
● Teams - use zoom or something similar to record you both on the screen at the same
time.(Use co-host to share the roles)
● Videos can not be bigger than 10GB - smaller is better
● Videos must be .mp4 file format or .mov as these are universal and we should be able to
open them easily. We do not want links to a youtube channel or anything else.

DAD
● Judges will judge presentations - submit questions on the score sheets.
● Score sheets will be returned to 4-H Agent - ASAP especially for winners.
● For State Finals: Use questions from the District Judging and answer those questions in
your re-recorded presentation for State judging. Be sure to say in recording that the
judges had these questions from the district and you are answering them if that is
applicable.

National 4-H Presentation/Outdoor Cookery Contest
-Outdoor Cooking will be postponed until fall.
● Timeline we have identified will be in plenty of time to meet the deadlines for any
National 4-H Competitions.
● Poultry & Egg Conference - Registration due in October with Conference in November
● Southern Region Horse Show - July 29 - August 2 - NC 4-H is not able to participate due
to the University canceling all summer activities.
