4-H Top 4 for the week of April 6, 2020

This morning might be a little more than a top 4.  Please read carefully and contact any member of the 4-H staff if you have questions.

Good morning folks we have some updates from NCSU concerning programing over the summer due to COVID-19.  At this time all face to face programming will be cancelled thru August.  That means Summer Fun, NC 4-H Citizenship Focus, 4-H Congress and Electric Congress.  That being said we are looking at virtual options for many of our programs.  Please see below for updates to changes in programming.

-4-H Volunteer Training April 20th.  We will still hold that training with our partner counties over zoom.  The topic will be how to reach our youth virtually and managing a virtual environment.  Please call the 4-H office at (910) 671-3276 by  Wednesday April 15 to register or email Wendy Maynor@ncsu.edu.

-SE 4-H District Teen Retreat will be Virtual.  It will be held on a zoom session April 23, 6-8:30 pm.  The event is free for our 14-18 year old active 4-H members (currently registered in 4-H online to be a part of).  Before the event attendees will need to work with staff as part of a county huddle to vote for district officers.  If you are interested in being a part of this please e-mail Wendy Maynor at Wendy_Maynor@ncsu.edu by April 16.  We do need to register everyone for this event.

-NC 4-H Citizenship Focus...although the Face to Face version has been cancelled there may still be a virtual opportunity.  We will let you know when we know more.

-4-H District Activity Day-again the face to face version of this has been cancelled but we do expect there to be a virtual version of this.  Keep practicing your presentations and we will get back to you on details.

-4-H Congress-The face to face version has been cancelled we do not know if there will be a virtual opportunity.  We do know there will be a virtual opportunity for state presentations for those that win at virtual district activity day.  Please stay tuned for more information.

-4-H Summer Fun-At this time we are cancelling our face to face version of Summer Fun.  We will refund money to those that registered.  There will be virtual opportunities available for learning and we will let you know what that looks like as soon as we know.

-4-H Overnight Camp has been cancelled face to face.  We will offer folks already registered the opportunity for refunds, or to allow their payments to carry over for next year.  A letter will be sent to those registered with more details.

-4-H Club meetings-we will be working with our volunteers for virtual opportunities for club meetings through August.  Stay tuned for more information from your club leaders.

That is what we have for today.  As we learn more we will share it with you.  Please stay tuned to the blog for more 4-H information.
